Greetings, I’m Chris: teacher, father, husband, and TpT’er.
My wife gave birth to three girls in twelve months, and I was making a teacher’s income. She was a stay at home mom. Needless to say, we had no money! And times were tough!
I can’t begin to tell you how difficult and stressful times were with three babies and no money.
We had no money!
All of our girls’ clothes were hand-me-downs. We were on Food Stamps. One Saturday a month, we spent the whole day at Women, Infants, and Children center to get our government-issued checks for formula, milk, and cereal. I skipped meals to save money and rode my bike to the local Utilities Office so I didn’t have to mail our check and spend money on a stamp.
We didn’t have internet, nor a computer. If I had to research something, I did it during my planning period,
We checked out videos from the library because we didn’t have cable (or streaming services).
Times were tight!
I worked second jobs over the breaks and after hours, so that we would have enough money.
There were no vacations. No treats at the store. No eating out. Just day to day, hand to mouth, barely scraping by, survival.
Thank you TpT
That’s why I love Teachers Pay Teachers. We can use the resources we’ve already made for our students, and post them when we’re at home, during our free time, and make extra money.
It’s so much better than a second job. No meals to pack, no long car rides, and no time away from home.
My TpT business gave us the financial freedom we needed. I felt like I could breathe for the first time in a long time.
Now, I spoil my girls. I buy them treats, take them on trips, and I even splurged on a Disney+ subscription. I’ve gained weight, we have internet and computers in our house, both my wife and I have gym memberships, and so many other little things that others take for granted, but they make us feel fantastic. And it’s all because of my TpT income.
I want this for you
My heart is to help you, and TpT sellers like you, make more money so that you, too, can find the financial freedoms that I have.
That’s why, as soon as I became a 4-figure-per-month seller, I started making resources and courses for TpT Sellers. I give most of it away for free. Then I made a course to help teachers become TpT Sellers, which I keep at a low price even though it has tons of trainings and templates, because I know how tough (but life changing) it is to start that side hustle.
After that, I made a free course to help TpT’ers start their email marketing. Then one to start a blog. And I kept building courses and making resources. Eventually, after I got tons of requests, I started a membership that includes 13 courses, 100s of templates, a great community of sellers, and a weekly meetup. It’s an amazing program that provides so much value.
I actually make less money on my membership than I would if I had just stayed committed to my TpT store and business. But I can’t help myself! It’s my passion. I get so much fulfillment out of helping others find TpT success so they too can AMPLIFY their income.
My Credentials
Whenever I post about this program, people always ask me about my credentials. So here are a few. But first, let me say that I am NOT a full-time TpT Seller, and probably never will be. My full-time job generates too much income, plus it gives me good benefits for my family. It takes up much of my time. Besides that, when I do have time to work on my business, I focus on my membership. As already mentioned, this has been to the detriment of my TpT store, but I feel it’s worth it.
- I started selling on TpT around 10 years ago.
- I became a 4-figure per month seller within a few years
- Since then, my TpT income has increased steadily, but not dynamically, as I focus most of my energy on my membership
- I passed the Rising Star and Bronze milestones a while ago. I don’t know how close I am to the Silver milestone, but my guess is a few years away.
- My TpT Store is called Rethink Math Teacher. I have a website and Facebook page attached to it.
- I quickly became an expert and one of the most recognizable influencers in my niche (math teachers), and presented at several conferences (something I don’t do much anymore for reasons listed above).
- My store is in the 98th percentile at the time of writing this
- I have built the largest Facebook Group for Math Teachers as well as the largest one for TpT Sellers
- I started the Amplify membership in 2023
- My membership has over 50 active members and has helped many sellers go on to become three and four-digit sellers
My Full Name
I try not to use my full name on the website because my students are always Google searching me. Although a minimal amount of sleuthing would lead you to my two webpages and Facebook accounts, they usually don’t find it.
My full name is found on my TpT store, my Facebook pages, and in my emails from both businesses, which provide tons of value. I highly recommend joining.
