Let’s face it. Making more income is nice. But there’s a lot to do when it comes to your TpT business. There’s product creation, emails, blogs, social media, and more. And your time is finite. So if you’re going to invest your time somewhere, what is the most effective place to do it?

There are 4 ways to increase your income on TpT

  1. Make more products
  2. Get more traffic to your TpT store
  3. Increase your conversion rate
  4. Raise your prices

Let’s use some real numbers just to make the point clear.

Let’s pretend your TpT store has the following metrics:

  • 1,000 page views a month
  • The average cost of your products is $3
  • And your conversion rate is 3%

You would sell 30 products a month, and make $90

What would it take to double your income?

Make More Products

This is an excellent way to increase revenue. You must have quality products to have sales. However, we know how much time and energy it takes to make great products. And you still do have to market them to get more traffic.

Increase Traffic

How do you increase traffic?

You need to promote your products on social media, have a blog, and/or have an email list. All of these methods will get you more traffic to your store. But they all take time and energy. And emailing and social media both are non-stop. You must keep doing them to keep getting results.

However, increasing your traffic will get you more views, and make you more money.

In the scenario above, if you were to have 500 more page views a month, you would sell 15 more products and make an additional $45!

Increase Your Prices

Increasing prices is a great way to make more money. Especially if your quality is good.

However, increasing prices might decrease your conversion rates. So you will make more money per sale, but you might get fewer sales.

Increase Your Conversion Rates

Increasing your conversion rate by merely 2% (in the scenario above) would result in an additional 20 products being sold and make you $60 more per month.

The added bonus to increasing your conversion rate is that once you optimize your TpT store and product listings, you don’t have to keep doing things to continue to get this rate. 

You will also get the added bonus of repeat customers (who convert higher than any other type of customer). So you’ll start to increase your views as you increase your conversion rate.

What would Take Less Time?

What would be easier for you to do? Get 500 more page views a month? Make a bunch more products? Or increase your conversion rates?

Obviously, you want to be doing all of them. But I would argue that you can increase your conversion rates much faster than getting more traffic or making more products.

This means that increasing your conversion rates will have the highest monetary return on your time investment.

What an Optimized Store Does for You

When you optimize your TpT store with banners, custom categories, and the right products being showcased in your featured product and free product section, you will reap multiple rewards, all of which will result in more money in your pocket.

First, you will help potential customers find your best stuff, as well as the stuff in your store that is best for them. This will mean that they are finding the perfect TpT product for them, making them more likely to buy, and more likely to come back and buy again.

Beyond this, there are many things you can do on your product page that will increase traffic and conversions on your products. Things like writing a great product description, having the right title, and making high-quality, high-converting preview images will all help you convert at a much higher percentage. While a good product title and cover image will get you more views. All of which will result in more sales.

Top all of this off with the perfect Thank You page, and casual viewers will become purchasers who become repeat customers. And your income will soar.

How to Increase Conversion Rates

There are at least 10 things you can do to increase the conversion rates in your TpT store. Some of them are super easy, like updating your titles or making custom categories. Some involve a bit more like updating your thank you page and product descriptions.

But all of these will reap huge benefits.
